HC Carpet Cleaning Process
1 – Inspection
When our trained and certified carpet cleaning technician arrives at your property, he’ll ask you to show him the areas being cleaned, and to bring attention to any special requirements, like stain removal, urine patches, carpet odour issues, and the like.
2 – Stain Removal and Spot Treatment
Any areas with stains are treated first, to avoid spreading or worsening the stain during the steam cleaning process. The most common stains we see every day are tea, coffee, and wine, followed by pet accidents – either urine spots from animals, or just muck and mud that has been brought into the house by your furry friends. Other stains we can remove include makeup, ashes from incense, shoe scuffs, food spills, etc. Please note we do not guarantee complete removal of stains due to age of stain or type of carpet - keep in mind this is the most effective way apart from carpet replacement/patching or colour match dyeing.
3 – Spraying Detergent
After the stain removal is complete, we’ll apply a commercial grade detergent, which will get to work separating dirt from your carpet. Using a precise low pressure sprayer, we apply a perfect spray of a commercial grade carpet detergent that breaks down the dirt’s surface tension
4 – Agitation
On heavily soiled carpets, this additional step will help work the detergent into the carpet, and to separate the soil from the carpet fibre. Agitation is either done with a firm brush-like device, manually operated by the technician, or with a powered rotary scrubber, which scrubs the carpet at low speed using safe bristles specifically designed to be safe for the carpet. commonly known as a “dual process”
5 – Steam Cleaning and Extraction
Using The “Evolution Wand” Delrin® Acetal glide and a unique laminar air flow design which increases water and soil recovery connected to a powerful Pex500 hot-water carpet cleaning machine, our trained technicians spray (and then extract) exactly the right amount of hot water to wash out the detergent and dirt.
Just a fraction of a second after the hot water is sprayed into the carpet fibre – and before it can soak down into the underlay – it’s met with an incredible amount of air flow, sucking it up into our extraction nozzle – and leaving your carpet clean and pristine.
6 – De-odorize and Clean Up
Some customers request a deodorizing treatment, which will help keep the carpets smell-free well into the future. Once the job is complete, we tidy up after ourselves – taking care to wipe up any drips on tiles and hard surfaces.
Considerations
Professional Services vs. DIY: While DIY steam cleaning machines are available, professional services typically offer more powerful equipment and expertise, resulting in a more thorough clean.
Regular Maintenance: To maintain carpets and prolong their lifespan, regular steam cleaning is recommended every 6 to 12 months, depending on traffic levels and usage.
In summary, carpet steam cleaning is an effective method for deep cleaning carpets, offering numerous benefits such as enhanced cleanliness, stain removal, and improved indoor air quality. It is crucial to consider the appropriate techniques and equipment to ensure the best results.
