Hygenic Clean restoration and the process we undertake

Water carpet restoration involves a systematic approach to effectively manage and treat carpets affected by water damage. The process typically includes the following key steps:

Initial Assessment

1. Inspection: Assess the extent of the water damage to determine which areas of the carpet need attention.

2. Identify Water Source: Establish whether the water is from a clean source (Overflowed bath) or contaminated (e.g., floodwater), as this impacts the restoration method.

Water Extraction

1. Remove Standing Water: Use commercial-grade wet vacuums to extract as much water as possible from the carpet and underlay.

2. Install drying equipment required to dry moisture beneath carpets

3. Reassess moisture levels on second visit and determine if it is dry or requires more time to dry.

4. After drying check carpets for any signs of damage, such as fraying or delamination. Along with checking skirting boards for swelling

Cleaning and Sanitising

1. Shampooing/Hot Water Extraction: Clean the carpet fibres using appropriate cleaners to eliminate dirt, odour, and contaminants from the spillage

2. Disinfecting: Apply a sanitising solution to prevent mould and bacteria growth. This is particularly crucial in cases of contaminated water.

Final Touches

1. Stretching and Reinstallation: If the carpet has shifted during the drying process, it may need to be re-stretched and secured.

2. Post-Restoration Assessment: Conduct a final inspection to ensure all issues are addressed and the carpet is restored to a usable condition.

Prevention

1. Identify Risks: Evaluate areas prone to water damage and take preventive measures, such as improving drainage and maintenance of plumbing.

2. Routine Maintenance: Regular cleaning (clogged gutters) and inspections can help mitigate future water damage risks.
